Damian Barrett Says Jason Dunstall Rates Himself The Third Best Player Ever

Damian Barrett appeared on Triple M’s Rocking Horses with Billy Brownless and TAB’s Nick Quinn and Adam Hamilton this morning and dished out some gossip from the long lunch that some of the Triple M Footy team had yesterday.

The boys had a catch up lunch, and Damo said that they had some fun with the Chief.

“What I like doing with Chief when he has a few — and you do need to loosen him up a little bit — he starts ranking himself amongst footballers,” Damo said.

“At one stage we got it out of him that he might have been the third best player ever.”

Damo said that they had managed to get Chief to admit the players he had ahead of himself.

“You do need to work it out of him,” Damo said.

“He certainly puts Carey at number one, and he does genuinely put Lockett ahead of himself.”

Damo said that Dunstall puts himself ahead of Leigh Matthews — “not part of the conversation” — and Gary Ablett Senior.

Damo said that Chief was best on at the lunch yesterday, with James Brayshaw second.

“When Chief takes middle and off, or middle and leg maybe, he fills in and he was in,” he said.

“He was in for the long haul.”
