Premiership coach Damien Hardwick has signed a three-year contract extension.

The 45-year-old will remain at the helm of the Tigers until the end of 2021, which would take him to 12 years at the club.

“I’m incredibly honoured to continue coaching the Richmond Football Club, and have the support of Peggy (O'Neal), Brendon (Gale) and the board,” he told Richmond's website.

“It’s a collective effort that helps deliver success, and I’m fortunate at Richmond to have a great group of players, coaches and staff all working together towards our goal.

“It’s been an exciting journey thus far at Richmond, and both myself, the coaches and players are eager for the challenge that awaits this season.”

Hardwick isn't the only man to be rewarded with a contract extension on Tuesday: Triple M Hot Breakfast newsbreaker Tom Browne reported Toby Greene has signed a mammoth six-year deal.
