The Western Bulldogs will have a couple more fresh faces taking the coach’s reins for their remaining two practice matches this pre-season.

Assistant coach Daniel Giansiracusa will be in charge when the Dogs face Hawthorn in Ballarat on Saturday while his colleague Steven King will take over from him when they meet Collingwood in Moe on March 10.

Senior coach Luke Beveridge has already handed over responsibility once this year with Rohan Smith assuming the role for their AFLX tournament in Sydney earlier this month.

“It is a really important opportunity for 'Gia' and 'Kingy' to take the reins and experience the end-to-end week of being the senior coach,” Beveridge said.

“Our coaches have thriving professional and personal relationships with our players and I have great faith that both our coaches and our players will enjoy the experience.

“Unfortunately, with just the two JLT games, Joel (Corey) and Ash (Hansen) will need to wait until 2019 for their opportunity.”

Giansiracusa played 265 games and kicked 331 goals for the Dogs in 15 years at Whitten Oval. He has been on the club’s coaching panel since retiring in 2014.

King played 193 games for Geelong and 47 games with St Kilda for a career tally of 240 before retiring in 2010. The 2007 premiership player has been an assistant at the Bulldogs for seven years.
