Dennis Cometti has heard Bruce McAvaney's Friday night shout out during Lance Franklin's goal of the year contender for the first time.

But he reckons his 2010 call of Buddy's goal has the edge.

Buddy nailed another goal of the year contender against Adelaide, in which Dennis received a bit of a shout out from his old mate.

"He has done it! Dennis, where are you? I need you right now!" Bruce proclaimed.

Of course, Dennis called Buddy's eerily similar goal of the year on Channel 7 back in 2010, where he burned off Cale Hooker down the wing and slotted it from the pocket.

Bruce's call was played during Triple M's pre-game coverage of Fremantle/Richmond.

"That's the first time I've heard that," he said.

"He's more emotional about Buddy (than me), I think."

Dennis said his call of the 2010 goal of the year has this one covered - judging by how Buddy responded.

"I tell you what, Buddy bounced it, when I saw the replay, much better for me!" he laughed.

"My call, I think, brought the best out of his bouncing. Because he was a jabroni with the bounce (on Friday), wasn't he? It just wasn't coming back!"
