Triple M's Dr Rohan White believes Jake Stringer’s season could be over, even if the Western Bulldogs make finals.

Stringer hurt his left hamstring again early in the clash with Port Adelaide on Saturday.

He recently missed three weeks after straining the same hamstring in round 17.

White joined Triple M’s call of Collingwood/Geelong at half time, saying if he’s hurt the same hamstring, it could spell some bad news.

“It’s the same hamstring he did over a month ago, low left hamstring and really bad news given that he came back after a three-week break last week,” he said.

“It looks like the end of the campaign for Jake.”

White said a recurring injury like this means you can “double” the rehab time.

Double the time on the sidelines could mean Stringer’s hamstring becomes a six-week proposition.

“The rule of thumb, JB, if it’s a recurrent hamstring, so if it’s the same injury he sustained over a month ago, essentially you can double the rehab time,” he said.

"If it took him three weeks that (time), in fact possibly he wasn’t completely over it...I think that’s the campaign for Jake. Really bad luck."
