Eddie McGuire Reveals Details Behind His Move Back To The Footy Show

It's official: Triple M's Eddie McGuire has returned to The Footy Show.

“It’s been hours in the making!” Eddie told reporters this afternoon.

Channel 9 revealed at a press conference this afternoon outside the MCG that the inaugural host will take over the reigns, effective immediately.

Craig Hutchison has been booted from the AFL juggernaut in place of McGuire.

“I want to just make sure that I’m still remaining with Fox Footy,” he said.

“This is about coming together with my greatest passions, live football and the greatest footy show. I can’t wait to walk out with Bec onto the big stage.

“Craig Hutchison has done a wonderful job and will continue to do a wonderful job for the Nine Network on Footy Classified. I can’t believe I’m back on it, I’ve missed being on it.”

The show will take at least a one-week hiatus following the hosting switch.

"We're going to give it back to the people again," McGuire said.

"We're going to bring fun back to football."
