Essendon has addressed concern around star defender Michael Hurley's ankle, stating they will see how it pulls up tomorrow but hope it's of little concern.

Footage on Essendon's website saw Hurley roll his ankle after apparently clipping legs with forward James Stewart in an intra-club match, going to ground.

Hurley limped off the field afterward.

High performance manager Justin Crow expects the 26-year-old to pull up okay.

"He’s putting weight through it and walking around this afternoon," Crow told BomberTV.

"We’ll know more about the severity tomorrow but it doesn’t look to be too much of a concern."

Joe Daniher was on the opposite end of the injury scale, progressing well after a knee issue.

"Joe is going brilliantly. He’s right where we want him. He’s doing a mix of skills and also building a base for the season," Crow said.

"We’ll see Joe doing bits of match-play here and there and bits of skills and running right up to when we’re playing games."

The intra-club also saw star midfielder Zach Merrett and youngster Alex Morgan cop injuries, picking up a corked thigh and a rolled ankle respectively.
