Essendon’s Welcome Video For Devon Smith Is The Most Awkward Thing You’ll See Today

Essendon finally got the long-awaited Devon Smith trade through this morning, giving up pick 11 and next year’s third round pick to GWS and receiving Smith, pick 24 and a second round pick next year in return.

The Bombers media team wasted no time getting Smith in front of a camera, pushing out a Twitter video soon after the signing was announced.

The tweet asks if Smith will #DonTheSash in 2017, and pans up to his face as he twirls a footy and awkwardly stares down the barrel of the camera and utters “Yes”.

It’s super awkward, but appears to fit in with Essendon’s campaign of asking their supporters if they’re ‘back in’ with the expected response ‘Yess’.
