Essendon has announced the re-signings of Jackson Merrett, Shaun McKernan and Jake Long.
The Dons confirmed on Wednesday the trio would stay put, each on one-year deals, remaining in red and black for the 2018 season.
With it comes a promotion for Long, who will be moved from the rookie list to the senior list.
Essendon coach John Worsfold spoke with excitement about what the three can contribute.
"Jackson has already shown he can play a good level of AFL and he has been working on parts of his game to make him a more consistent performer. We have seen that coming through," he told essendonfc.com.au.
"Jake has shown a lot of promise in the way he plays. He is mainly on the wing but we think he can play half-back as well.
"(McKernan) is a player that works really hard, has a great attitude, great work ethic and fits in really well with the values that we are living."
