#FreeKickHawthorn is apparently back in full effect for season 2017.

It was reminiscent of a free kick he got against Adelaide at the G last year that ended in him kicking the game winning goal.

Paul Roos on TV was fuming, saying it was “as bad a decision as you’ll ever see in a game of football.”

The Triple M commentators were equally disgusted.

“That’s a shocker. That is an absolute shocker of a decision,” Wayne Carey said.

“It’s not a free kick. That is actually holding the ball if anything."

James Brayshaw felt the same.

“I agree with you, Duck. That’s an appalling decision,” he said.

Even the umps couldn’t get the Hawks over the line, they ended up losing to the Crows 12.11 (89) to 16.16 (112), meaning Hawthorn are 0-2 at the start of a season for the first time since 2009.
