David Teague will return to Carlton as an assistant coach for next season.

The Blues confirmed Teague will be departing the Crows, where he held the position of forward line coach for the past three years.

He had previously worked as an assistant coach at St Kilda in 2014 and West Coast from 2011 to 2013, and coached the Northern Bullants in the VFL before that.

Carlton head of football Andrew McKay was thrilled to have Teague back on board.

“David is an outstanding individual with a strong understanding of the modern game. He has done a great job with Adelaide’s forward line over the past three seasons and we look forward to him imparting his knowledge on our group of young players,” he told Carlton's website.

“We’re rapt that he has chosen to come back to the Blues.”

Teague played 50 games for Carlton and 33 games for North Melbourne in a career that included a John Nicholls Medal in 2004.
