Former North Melbourne champion Brent Harvey has told Triple M’s Rush Hour that he thinks Adelaide will win the 2017 AFL Grand Final on Saturday against Richmond.

Harvey, who is this year’s premiership cup ambassador, believes the Crows have been the best team for most of the season and doubts whether Richmond’s small forward line set-up can be successful in a third consecutive final.

“Richmond have got a small forward line with one tall target in Jack Riewoldt,” said Harvey, who is the VFL/AFL’s all-time games record holder with 432.

“To be honest with you, I didn’t think it could win finals and they’ve won two, so they’re going OK.

“Adelaide on the other hand have been the best team for 23 or 24 weeks in my eyes. I think they’re fantastic.

“They’ve got the best ball movement in the competition. You see Tom Lynch who is very important to them, Josh Jenkins and Eddie Betts kick the most goals running into goal with no one in front of them that I’ve ever seen in my whole life because their ball movement is so good.

“The only downfall for the Adelaide Crows is they have to come to the MCG and play where Richmond play that ground as good as anybody in the competition.

“I hope it’s a really close game and I think I’m leaning towards Adelaide.”

The Crows are aiming for their third premiership while the Tigers are hoping to claim their 11th flag.
