Port Adelaide has picked former Gold Coast half-back Trent McKenzie as a delisted free agent.

McKenzie’s famously booming kick earned him the nickname Cannon, and he managed 99 games across seven seasons at the Suns.

McKenzie was picked up as a 17-year-old in 2009 and spent 2010 playing with Gold Coast’s VFL team, and played in Gold Coast’s first ever game.

After struggling to get on the park and spending time in the NEAFL over the last couple of seasons, he was delisted this year.

Port swooped on him as a delisted free agent.
