New Fremantle recruit Nathan Wilson revealed during the week that it was 'Freo or bust' in his desire to seek a trade.

Wilson wanted to return home to Western Australia, with his partner expecting a child in February, and said during his first press conference the Dockers were the only option.

"It was Freo or bust. I don't like the Eagles. Put that up," he said.

"You're either Freo or Eagles, and I'm Freo."

Those words caught the attention of former West Coast star David Wirrpanda.

Wirrpanda, who played 227 games for the Eagles, including the 2005 grand final and 2006 premiership, posted a photo of an article featuring Wilson's comments.

He told Wilson on Instagram he ought to keep that sort of talk to himself.

"Good to be honest.. but keep that shit to your self," he wrote.

"Quick way to loose (sic) respect.. let's see how good you are brother."

This might heat up the rivalry a little more.

Wilson didn't take it too hard, saying a little banter "doesn't hurt anyone".
