Fremantle veteran pair Michael Johnson and Danyle Pearce have reached the end of the line with coach Ross Lyon confirming they won’t be offered new contracts for next season.

However, Lyon did flag the possibility of giving them both a farewell game before the 2018 season came to an end.

"I think it's pretty obvious they're going to exit," Lyon said.

"We did it (farewell game) with Matthew Pavlich, and they've been incredibly good servants for the club.

"Michael Johnson, we could argue, is our greatest Aboriginal player, so that's something we'll get to.

"As a caring football club, that should be on our agenda.

"We'll get to it at the right time. I think we're a long way out from that."

Johnson has played 239 games for the Dockers, including the 2013 grand final, ranking him fifth all time at the club.

Pearce, meanwhile, has played 104 games for Freo since crossing there from Port Adelaide in 2013. The 2006 Rising Star winner has played 258 career games in total.

However, Johnson and Pearce have only managed eight and three games respectively this year.
