Fremantle young gun Sean Darcy says he is annoyed to be rested this week for the side's clash with Gold Coast.

The 19-year-old ruckman has played six straight games after making his debut, replacing the hole left by Aaron Sandilands.

He has been in fine form, averaging 12 disposals and 33 hit outs a match.

He was disappointed, after that form, to be told he'd be rested.

"I tried to challenge it. I tried to say 'oh, are you sure?' but they didn't really listen to me. They took their way, so that was a bit annoying, but anyway," Darcy said.

"I've just got to listen to them and do what they say."

The Docker admitted he is feeling the added intensity of AFL footy in his first year.

"My body is a bit sore. The intensity, it's a bit quicker," he said.

"I did drop off a bit (last week), I was a bit disappointed. I'll have this week off and hopefully be better by next week."
