Fremantle key forward Matt Taberner has re-signed for the club.

Taberner has signed a two-year deal, keeping him at Freo until the end of 2019.

The 24-year-old has re-signed amid speculation that he’d seek a move back to Melbourne at the end of his contract this year.

He played eight games and kicked 11 goals for the 14th placed Dockers in 2017.

Taberner came to the Dockers in the 2013 rookie draft and has played 53 games for 52 goals.

He booted 41 goals from 16 games in the WAFl for Freo’s affiliate Peel Thunder, and played in their winning grand final side.
