Gary Pert Reveals Why He Is Stepping Down
"The timing is right"
Gary Pert says the timing is right for him to step down from as CEO of the Collingwood Football Club.
Speaking to the media, Pert says the role is "all-encompassing" and he wishes to spend more time with his family.
"I’m midway through a contract and I had to request to be let go from that contract. The timing is really good for the club… and the timing is right for me," Pert said.
"I’ve been in the role for 10 years and it’s been a really good 10 years.
"It was in my and my family’s best interest to say that enough is enough," Pert said.
Pert says he doesn't have any plans for the immediate future in a professional sense.
"I’m not thinking of any roles and I’m not entering into any conversations. My personal ambitions are the only thoughts I’ve had in this process.
