If Essendon thought things were going to get easier for them this week, they had better think again.

The Bombers are coming up against Geelong who happen to be one of their biggest bogey sides.

Essendon have only beaten the Cats once since 2005 – and that was only by four points back in 2011!

Geelong have won 12 of their past 13 encounters against the Dons by an average of 52 points.

Both sides head into the encounter desperate for a win. Essendon (3-4) and Geelong (5-2) have lost their past two games.

The Bombers are aiming to stay in touch with the top eight while the Cats will want to remain in the top four.

The teams will be contesting the second Country Game on Saturday night at the MCG.
