Geelong has begun its list changes, delisting luckless midfielder Josh Cowan.

The Cats confirmed Cowan, who played just 16 games in eight years after battling a variety of serious injuries, would not be offered a contract on Thursday.

He bounced back to play nine games and two finals last year, but only managed two games this season.

He is free to join another club as a free agent.

Geelong general manager of football Simon Lloyd thanked Cowan for his hard work.

“Josh’s great character and resilience held him in high regard with his teammates and coaches over his eight years at Geelong,” Lloyd said.

“Josh has and will continue to be greatly respected by everyone at the club and we wish him all the best for his future endeavours.”
