Much was made about Geelong's lack of intensity in last week's loss to Essendon.

The Cats recorded 13 tackles in the first half and 40 for the match in their disappointing loss to the Dons.

Fair to say this makes amends.

Geelong has cracked an all-time club record, with a whopping 133 tackles against the Western Bulldogs in their 22-point win.

It was led by Scott Selwood (17 tackles), Mitch Duncan (17), Patrick Dangerfield (12) and Zac Smith (10), with every player recording a tackle and 15 Cats recording at least four.

It is the most for Geelong on record, besting their previous record of 129 tackles, also set against the Bulldogs in round 16, 2014.

It's more than three times the tackles the Cats had last week.

It's also the fourth-highest tally of all time - only Sydney in round 13, 2016 (155), Richmond in round 10, 2010 (142) and Sydney again in round 11, 2016 (135) have reached a higher tally in a match.
