GWS has confirmed that midfielder Tom Scully will undergo surgery for a broken ankle.
Scully twisted awkwardly in a tackle in the first quarter against Collingwood yesterday and had to be taken from the ground on a stretcher.
He was taken to hospital where scans confirmed a broken ankle.
The Giants are yet to be able to put a timeframe on Scully’s return.
It was the hard-running midfielder’s first game of the season.
Scully has managed 120 games for the Giants since coming across from Melbourne in the 2011 trade period, booting 66 goals and picking up 16 Brownlow votes in his time there.
