GWS youngster Jeremy Finlayson has injured his knee during his debut against Geelong on Saturday night.

Finlayson went off during the second quarter and was unable to play again after suffering a medial ligament sprain.

“He’s a young kid who over two and a half years has got better and better every week he’s gone and then to go down half through the second quarter, it’s disappointing,” said Leon Cameron.

“But he’ll learn from those 40-50 minutes of AFL footy, put his head down and bum up again, rehab really well and get another opportunity.”

Teammate Sam Reid also suffered an ankle injury and will require a fitness test ahead of this weekend's game.

Toby Greene and Zac Williams - both late withdrawals against Geelong - are also racing the clock to prove their fitness before the Giants take on Hawthorn.
