AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan has fronted the media for an 'important announcement' this afternoon.
McLachlan said to reporters that he accepted the resignation of operations manager Simon Lethlean and Richard Simkiss from the AFL.
McLachlan said that the two men "had inappropriate relationships with two younger women who work in the AFL industry."
Andrew Dillon is now the acting head of football at AFL effective immediately.
McLachlan said these are 'personal and family matters' and will not be spoken about publicly - he asks for the privacy to be respected.
"I'm proud of the dramatic changes we have made as an organisation despite issues," McLachlan said.
"The last 24 hours have been pretty tough."
More to come.
