Gold Coast are interested in signing former Saint Nathan Freeman as a delisted free agent, according to Ben Guthrie at AFL.com.au.

Freeman was flown to the Suns’ base and shown through the facilities by the club on Monday, with list manager Craig Cameron confirming their interest to The Age.

"We have been having a talk to Nathan; he has come up and had a look at the facilities. Like many clubs we would like to add some pace, and Nathan has that," Cameron said.

"He will have a medical ... clearly it is well known he has had problems over his time in the AFL system, but he also played a lot of football this year in the VFL and then the two AFL games at the end of the season."

Freeman initially went to Collingwood with pick 10 in the 2013 draft and was traded to St Kilda with pick 68 for pick 63 and a 2016 second round pick.

He suffered with persistent hamstring injuries but finally made his debut this year, playing two games for the Saints before being delisted.
