Gold Coast chairman Tony Cochrane has hinted that the club may match an offer to wantaway forward Tom Lynch, according to AFL.com.au.

Cochrane said that Suns couldn’t do much until a formal offer was made, but that they weren’t ruling anything out.

"If the offer is two million, he won't be staying at the club … but if it's 45 thousand a year and three hot cross buns every Easter, we'd match that," Cochrane said.

Under the rules of restricted free agency, Gold Coast can match any offer made to Lynch, meaning whichever club that comes in for him will have to work out a trade.

If the Suns let Lynch go, they’ll get a compensation pick — most likely to be pick three in the draft.

Richmond are thought to be most likely to secure Lynch’s signature, but Cochrane says the club has no idea what’s going on.

"Until we know what we've been asked to match, we can't make a valid judgement on whether we can match it or not," he said.

"We're actually sitting on the bench and they're the ones playing the game. Until they reveal what their offer is, it's impossible to comment."

Daniel Rioli was in brilliant finals form last night, and so was BT — his call of Rioli’s dribble goal was brilliant.
