Greater Western Sydney co-captain Phil Davis is likely to finish his career as a Giant after signing a new three-year contract extension.

Davis wasn’t due to come out of contract until the end of 2018 but the 27-year-old will now stay at Spotless Stadium until the end of 2021 at least.

The former Crow has co-skippered the AFL’s newest club, along with Callan Ward, since its inception in 2012.

Davis had no hesitation in putting pen to paper.

“It’s an exciting time for me and also a great time to be part of the footy club,” he said.

“It was a very easy decision, I really didn’t have to put too much thought into it and it was a pretty quick process in the end.

“It’s been a great journey so far and hopefully there’s a fair few years left. I’m looking forward to the next four years if you include this year.”

The key defender has played 103 of his 121 career games with GWS.
