Greater Western Sydney have hired Jason McCartney as their new list manager.
McCartney had been the Western Bulldogs’ list manager since 2011 and replaces Craig Cameron who joined Gold Coast in the same role this month.
GWS footy manager Wayne Campbell said the appointment was an important step in the club’s ongoing recruiting and list management strategy.
“Jason has a proven track record as one of the most highly regarded football administrators in the AFL and we’re delighted he’s joining the club,” said Campbell.
“Jason’s strength is in list management and we feel he will complement Adrian Caruso and his recruiting team.
“His work in managing the Western Bulldogs’ list and TPP (total player payments), culminating in the 2016 premiership, has been outstanding and we feel he will be a perfect addition to the Giants' football department."
McCartney, who also played 182 games with Adelaide, Collingwood and North Melbourne, thanked the Bulldogs for supporting him throughout his six seasons at Whitten Oval.
“It has been a great experience, and I’ve made some strong friendships over the last six years," he said.
“An exciting opportunity has presented at Greater Western Sydney for my family and I, and I’m now looking forward to the next chapter of my career.”
