Gun Adelaide back Jake Lever has indicated he won’t come back to Melbourne.

The 20-year-old didn’t miss a match in 2016 and cemented his spot in the first 22.

His form helped make Adelaide the sixth best defence in the AFL in 2016.

Lever is from Melbourne, but in a recent interview he said he wasn’t thinking of moving back east any time soon.

"Adelaide is a great place. I live in Glenelg, which is one of the nicer suburbs, and where I am from in country Victoria there are not too many beaches. Plus I’m doing something I love," Lever told News Corp.

"Melbourne is where the family is and it is great to go back and see them, but Adelaide has been great and I've loved every minute of it."

Lever was drafted to the Crows with pick 14 in 2014.
