GWS star forward Toby Greene will be free to play Collingwood in this weekend’s semi-final at the MCG after avoiding suspension from the match review officer.

Michael Christian cleared Greene of contact he made with Swans pair Aliir Aliir and Nic Newman, but the Giant was offered a $2500 fine for misconduct against Isaac Heeney.

With regards to the Aliir incident, Christian said Greene jumped early in the marking contest and made contact with his right foot. But under current guidelines for a marking contest, no reportable offence was committed.

With regards to the Newman incident, Christian said that before the ball arrived, Greene extended his leg and pushed Newman before completing the mark. Christian added that force used was below that required for a charge to be laid.

Greene’s teammate Harry Himmelberg has also been cleared of contact he made with Newman.  Christian said the contact made to Newman's chest and shoulder was done so with no forceful high contact and that it was ruled not unreasonable in the circumstances.

Collingwood’s Levi Greenwood has also been given the green light to play on Saturday night after he was cleared of a nasty head clash with West Coast’s Willie Rioli.

Christian said Rioli was moving away from the contest towards the forward line when a head clash with Greenwood occurred. At the collision, Greenwood was near-stationary and it was ruled his actions did not constitute a reportable offence.

West Coast star Elliot Yeo will be free to play in the Eagles’ preliminary final in a fortnight’s time against either Hawthorn or Melbourne after he was cleared of contact made against Collingwood’s Taylor Adams.

Christian said the ball was loose and Adams took possession as Yeo moved towards him. Christian explained that Adams sought to handball and Yeo tried to block the ball with his right boot. A free kick was paid for high contact at the time and it was ruled Yeo's actions were not unreasonable.

Meanwhile, GWS youngster Jacob Hopper can accept a $2500 sanction for making careless umpire contact and Sydney’s Zak Jones has been offered a $2000 fine for engaging in rough conduct on Giants co-captain Callan Ward.
