GWS Shut Down Lachie Whitfield Trade Talk

GWS is adamant star midfielder Lachie Whitfield will not leave the club.

Whitfield has had a difficult run of late with the Giants, serving an ASADA ban for dodging a drugs test last year.

He will be cleared to play in round eight.

GWS footy boss Wayne Campbell said, despite everything, Whitfield is content at the club.

“He is really happy," he told News Corp.

"We have spoken to his manager (about that speculation) and had positive talks. So he will be a Giants player for a whole lot longer.

“He will be fine, we are pretty confident with him.”

Whitfield, a former number one pick, is contracted until the end of 2018.

He has played 72 games for the Giants, kicking 33 goals.
