The Giants have expressed their desire to re-rookie Sam Reid, after the veteran was delisted.

Reid was delisted by GWS ahead of their first list lodgement deadline, despite playing 19 games in the past two seasons.

The 27-year-old played 13 games for the Giants in 2017, the most he has ever managed in a season, in a variety of roles through the midfield and up forward.

GWS general manager of football Wayne Campbell said everyone was "all on the same page" regarding Reid staying at the club via the rookie list.

“The club, Sam and his management are all on the same page regarding Sam’s playing future at the Giants and we will re-draft Sam onto our rookie list at the rookie draft," he said.

Reid has played 43 games in total across 10 seasons, starting his career at the Bulldogs before moving to the Giants.

He retired in 2013 before resurrecting his career for the 2016 season.
