The Giants have locked away another of their brightest talents, with defender Zac Williams agreeing to a new deal.

Williams, who enjoyed a breakout season in 2016, has signed a new three-year deal, which will tie him to the club until the end of 2020.

The 22-year-old played 22 games in 2016, averaging 20.7 disposals and over 400 metres gained, becoming one of the game's best attacking defenders and finishing seventh in the best and fairest.

“I’m really settled here at the Giants and couldn’t be happier to know that this is where I’ll be playing for the next few years,” he told the Giants' website.

“The Giants gave me an opportunity as an 18-year old and I feel at home playing here.

“We have a really close knit playing group who are driving each other to continue to improve.”

Williams has played 53 games for the Giants after being drafted as a rookie selection in the 2013 draft through GWS's academy.
