Geelong captain Joel Selwood and vice-captain have both signed contract extensions.

Selwood is committed to the Cats until 2021, while Taylor’s new deal sees him stay at Kardinia Park until 2019.

Selwood has played 249 games for the Cats since coming to the club at pick 7 in the 2006 draft.

He is a triple premiership player and six time All-Australian, and has captained the Cats for 135 games since 2012.

Taylor has played 229 games in the blue and white hoops after being picked up as a 21-year-old from the WAFL with pick 17 in the 2007 draft.

He played in both the 2009 and 2011 premiership wins for the Cats, and was picked in the All-Australian team in 2010 and 2013.

Both players will be 33 at the end of their contracts.
