The story behind Jaeger O'Meara's knee gets even worse, with the midfielder a late withdrawal against the Demons.

O'Meara will miss, once again, with knee soreness.

The young gun has missed the last two years of footy with his troublesome knees.

He was fit at the start of the year but copped a knock in round two which is still troubling him.

“Jaeger was feeling great going into last week’s clash but unfortunately, despite us giving him every opportunity to get up for today’s match, he still has some soreness around his knee,” said Hawthorn GM of football operations Jason Burt.

“Fortunately, the irritation is still in relation to the knock he received in Round 2 and separate from the problems Jaeger has faced in the past."

Will Langford is his replacement.

The Dees are unchanged.
