Melbourne’s Heritier Lumumba has spoken to Channel 7 News about his battle with concussion.

The former-Collingwood Premiership player has spent 6-weeks on the sidelines but has now dismissed any speculation that concussion could prematurely end his career.

“It’s been fantastic, the period not playing. Every negative circumstance in your life is an opportunity to grow,” Lumumba said.

“I feel fantastic. I have an opportunity to contribute to my team playing finals football.”

Lumumba also told reporter Tom Browne that he is still struggling with the death of Muhammad Ali.

“I’m still mourning the passing of the great Muhammad Ali. I think that is something to note,” Lumumba said.

“That has probably been the most difficult time in this period.”
