Earlier today some media — including us — perpetuated some fake news, suggesting that the man who flipped over the fence at the Gabba yesterday was fined.

As it turns out, he wasn’t fined at all.

The bloke tried to punch a ball away after it sailed through from a set shot during the Brisbane v Gold Coast game, and flipped over the fence, nearly landing on the fence.

A tweet went around today suggesting that the man had been fined $3000 and was set to face court.

It has since emerged that this is not the case.
