Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan has put the responsibility to deliver a second straight win this weekend against Carlton squarely on the players, imploring them to "show some maturity".

The Lions haven't won two consecutive games since 2015, and after defeating Fremantle by 55 points on Sunday, Fagan left it up to the players to decide how long they bask in the win before they switch their attention to Carlton.

"They're all the things we've got to do if we want to become a good team, start stringing wins together, win on the road," he said.

In his weekly press conference the coach was most pleased with "the evenness of the contribution" in Sunday's second win of the season along with "the spirit and the mate-ship and the brotherhood the guys showed out there".

Fagan also praised NAB Rising Star nominee for Round 15 Cam Rayner, revealing he was lucky to have even played after almost being dropped after the GWS loss the week before.

"It's a good sign that he responded to that performance with a better one this week," he said.
