Western Bulldogs key forward Jack Redpath has bagged a six goal haul in his first game back from a knee reconstruction for Footscray in the VFL.

Redpath’s goals were instrumental in getting the Doggies over the line in a tight contest against Richmond at Etihad Stadium.

Footscray won a thriller 17.16 (118) to 17.9 (111), with Redpath kicking the last goal of the game to seal it.

It was amongst three huge majors he booted in the last term.

Redpath’s comeback is remarkable given he ruptured his ACL against St Kilda just over nine months ago.

His return follows Mitch Wallis’s last week. Wallis badly broke his leg in the same game Redpath injured his knee last year.

The Dogs were trailing by 12 points at the 26 minute mark of the last term against Richmond, with the lead changing three times in the fourth quarter.

The game was played as a curtain raiser to the Dogs taking on the Tigers in the AFL at the same venue tonight.
