Jack Trengove will make his debut for Port Adelaide this weekend.

The former Melbourne co-captain will play against Carlton this Saturday after some impressive form in the SANFL.

Trengove has averaged 27 disposals, five tackles and four clearances a game so far this season in the reserves.

Trengove will come in, as will Jack Hombsch, while All-Australian contender Tom Jonas will miss after not passing fit at training.

Darcy Byrne-Jones will also miss after arriving to training late.

Port Adelaide posted a video of coach Ken Hinkley breaking the news to Trengove today.

"You keep doing the right thing enough, the right thing will happen for you," he told Trengove.

"I'm just so pleased for you...you deserve it mate, more than anyone."
