Richmond have delisted Jacob Townsend, Nathan Drummond and Mabior Chol on Wednesday.

However, the Tigers are committed to redrafting Townsend in next month’s rookie draft if he does not find another club as a delisted free agent.

“We would love for Jacob to remain at Richmond and he knows there is a spot for him at the club,” Richmond football manager Neil Balme said.

“He is well within his rights as a delisted free agent to look for new opportunities and should they arise, we will support his decision."

Townsend was famously in the right place at the right time in 2017 as he played his first game of the year in round 22 and kept his spot right up until the grand final, which they won against Adelaide, as he kicked 16 goals in five games including bags of six and five.

This year he managed another 10 games, but was dropped twice and took no part in the Tigers’ finals campaign as he fractured his ankle in the VFL.

Townsend, who joined the Tigers in 2016 from GWS, has played 19 of his 47 career games with Richmond.

Drummond played five games in his four years at Punt Road while Chol managed just the one game in three seasons.
