Western Bulldogs forward Jake Stringer has injured his knee in the game against Richmond at Etihad Stadium tonight.

Stringer was taken down in a tackle by Brandon Ellis midway through the third quarter and his right leg twisted underneath him.

He immediately grabbed his knee in pain and had to be helped off by trainers.

They took him straight down to the rooms.

Watch the incident here:

He came back to the bench with no strapping on his knee but it's not clear whether he will come back on.

The Bulldogs will be hoping he can get back on the park; they trail Richmond 8.10 (58) to 9.7 (61) at three quarter time.
