James Brayshaw has confirmed he’ll be returning to television footy commentary with Channel 7 this year.

JB will be calling the EJ Whitten Legends Game on Friday September 1.

Brian Taylor dropped the exclusive on the Saturday Rub this afternoon and asked JB to confirm.

“Can you confirm to the whole world that you will be calling the EJ Whitten Legends Game game for men’s health, prostate cancer, and all of that on the Seven Network? Is that true?” BT asked.

“Yes it is,” Brayshaw confirmed.

JB was shocked that Bristle had that info.

“I thought no one knew that,” he said.

It led to some intrigue around Brayshaw’s future.

“This is a man who’s not tied to a network,” BT said.

“I’m interested… in what might happen with you and Channel 7 beyond this particular game,” Damo said.

JB remained coy on that, but gave some background on how he came to be involved in the game.

“Lewis Martin (Channel 7’s Managing Director) called me during the week and said ‘would you like to do it?’, it was the first I’d heard of it,” he said.

“I was stunned I must admit, because it wasn’t on my radar at all.

“I said I would love to do it because I think the cause is brilliant and I love the game, Brian and I have called it many times.”

The EJ Whitten Legends Game will be broadcast live nationally from 7:30pm AEST on Channel 7, 7mate and Fox Footy.
