Triple M Footy’s James Brayshaw says Carlton reached a “new low” on Saturday when they were smashed by Fremantle at Etihad Stadium.

The Blues were held goalless in the first half as the Dockers booted the first 12 goals to lead by a whopping 70 points at half-time, before running out 57-point victors.

It was just the fifth time in 867 games at Etihad Stadium that a team has failed to kick a goal before half-time.

Adding insult to injury for the Blues was the fact that prior to Saturday, Fremantle lost all five of their road trips this year by an average of 56 points.

And JB was disgusted with what he saw from the bottom-of-the-ladder side.

“That’s a new low, I reckon. They were deplorable to half-time,” JB told Triple M’s Rush Hour.

“Nine first-round draft picks in their starting 22 so you’ve got no right to be that bad - Two No.1 picks and two pick threes.

“They were horrific, and they’re not playing Richmond, either. They’re playing Freo in Melbourne.

“They’re a shadow of what they were, Carlton.”
