Triple M Footy’s James Brayshaw thinks Sydney are on the verge of “parceling a few” of their players up for next month’s trade period to enhance their position at this year’s draft.

Dan Hannebery has reportedly already told the Swans he wants to be traded, despite having two years left on his contract, and Gary Rohan is believed to be considering moving to Victoria.

Meanwhile, rumours are swirling around the futures of Luke Parker and Jake Lloyd. The Swans' first pick at the draft at this stage is No.12.

“This is how I see it from afar. Sydney is as smart as any club in the comp I reckon in this space,” JB told Triple M’s Rush Hour during The Midweek Rub.

“This smacks to me of them parceling a few up and going, ‘Righto, we need a good look at this draft, it’s a ripping draft, let’s see what we can get for these blokes and let’s see what we can add to our stocks’.

“You don’t wait until they’re cooked and then find out if anyone wants them. No point doing that.”

Former Sydney coach Paul Roos pointed out that the Swans will need extra points at the draft to secure the services of father-son prospect Nick Blakey who is rated as a top-10 player.

In keeping with JB’s theory, Damian Barrett thinks outgoing Swans CEO Andrew Ireland will leave the club with a “legacy deal” as his parting gift for the club that would be even bigger than someone like Gold Coast defender Steven May.
