Triple M Footy’s James Brayshaw isn’t so sure that Essendon should be granted yet another marquee match during the home-and-away season from next year.

The Bombers have confirmed that they would like to stage a Good Friday eve match in 2019 against arch rivals Carlton.

North Melbourne have played in the first two Good Friday matches and JB doesn't mind the idea of a game taking place on the night before.

But given Essendon already play on Anzac Day and are involved in other blockbuster clashes like the Dreamtime game against Richmond and the country game against Geelong, JB thinks a fourth game might be too much for one club.

“My only thinking is that Essendon already have Dreamtime at the ‘G, they already have Anzac Day and I think the AFL are cautious of allowing any club too much exposure to these one-off big games,” JB told Triple M’s Rush Hour

“They (AFL) control the fixture, it will be interesting to see what happens.”

Jay Clark reckons the Essendon-Carlton game on the night before Good Friday is a “no brainer”.
