Hawthorn star James Sicily will miss around six weeks of footy after breaking his wrist during the Brisbane clash.

Scans have revealed Sicily has a fractured scaphoid, which will require surgery.

It is a huge blow for Hawthorn and their finals chances with the 23-year-old arguably in All-Australian form in 2018, averaging 24 disposals and seven marks a game.

“It’s obviously really unfortunate for James and the club,” Hawthorn general manager of football Graham Wright said.

“James has been in great form of late, and he’ll be really difficult to replace.

“But, this presents an opportunity to the guys who have been in good touch at Box Hill.

“Someone will step up to fill the void, and we’ll continue on in our pursuit of finals footy.”

Triple M's Damian Barrett believes Nic Naitanui's knee injury is "premiership-ending" for West Coast.
