Jay Clark says North Melbourne coach Brad Scott is on Collingwood's radar, should the club part ways with Nathan Buckley.

"We mentioned a few of the coaches who potentially might be on Collingwood's radar for next season," Clarky said on the Sunday Rub.

"Brad Scott, I understand, is a person of significant interest.

"As I understand it, Brad Scott always thought 10 years at one club might be sort of enough. He's approaching that time at the moment.

"He's known to Collingwood, (he) worked there as an assistant coach."

Wayne Carey isn't sure Scott will want to leave the club.

"He talks about the fact that we wants to follow through with rebuilding the Kangaroos," he said.

"I reckon he's got a bit to work with, and I reckon he wants to see that through."
