GWS youngster Jeremy Finlayson has had his debut cut short.

Finlayson went to ground in the first half against Geelong trying to collect a ball, hurting his knee.

He appeared frustrated as the GWS staff tended to his knee on the boundary.

He was spotted in the third quarter near the GWS bench, in a full tracksuit, on crutches and with a big knee brace around his left leg.

Finlayson was brought in to make his debut this week after Zac Williams hurt his hamstring on Friday.

He racked up four disposals and three tackles in his short time on the ground.

The 21-year-old was drafted with pick 85 in the 2014 AFL draft, as a GWS academy player.
