Collingwood defender Jeremy Howe has been cleared to play in next week’s grand final after scans cleared him of ankle damage.

Howe appeared to twist his ankle in the third quarter in a tackle with Daniel Rioli and went down to the room sin pain.

Howe played on but was mothballed midway through the last term.

The club confirmed that Howe underwent scans this morning that cleared him.

Howe will be available to play in Collingwood’s first grand final since the 2011 loss to Geelong.
